Hi.

Sangria Popsicles... YES please!

Sangria Popsicles... YES please!

Little is known about the origin of this delectable Spanish drink. Sangria as an iced drink was reintroduced to the U.S. by the late 1940s through the Hispanic community and since then has been quite popular as the most famous Spanish drink and my favorite drink of the summer season.

But what could be better than sipping on a refreshing glass of this delectable beverage? How about beating the summer heat by enjoying an ice cold sangria popsicle!

The Maria Method to my secret Sangria recipe is all about being easy!

That is why I love a new Sangria mix that I discovered this week; De La Costa Sangria. It is a pre-mixed blend with natural fruit flavors from Paso Robles. All you have to do is open the bottle and add ingredients to your liking! You can mix it, drink it or freeze it to enjoy on a hot summer day.
Below is my secret recipe!
The Maria Method Sangria Recipe
Traditional recipes feature wine mixed with fruits, such as pineapple, peaches, nectarines, berries, apples, and pears or melon. Below are my favorites fruits to throw in the mix.
Ingredients:
•    Fruit
•    Sliced Oranges
•    Raspberries
•    Strawberries
•    Peaches
•    Red Apple
•    Bottle of De La Costa Sangria Red Wine or White Wine Mix
•    Bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for Red Sangria
•    Bottle of dry White Wine or dry Prosecco for White Sangria
Slice all your fruit, place in a pitcher, pour in wine followed by the mix. Stir & enjoy over ice or freeze to enjoy on a hot summer day!

If you are making popsicles my favorite popsicle mold can be purchased at William Sonoma, Zoku Classic Pop Molds ($14.95) and the mold makes six at a time.
